… his gifts are good

hope you guys are having an amazing Sunday!
I wanted to share this promise with you guys today…… Reminding you that everything good & perfect comes from a God who is consistent and who will never have a change of mind or heart.

Trust our God’s plans, trust His wisdom, trust His goodness and have faith in what He does. There are times God will bring certain people or things into our lives that doesn’t seem so good or perfect but remember that the gifts from God will be good and perfect for us.
Before you run with that, know that God’s timing & plan is not ours. Know that sometimes we will have to work somethings out, we’ll have to endure, and change in order to see things through the eyes of God instead of our own.

Everything doesn’t always feel good but all things work together for good to those who love God.

I think everyone has experienced purchasing or receiving a gift that you weren’t too sure about. It may have sat on the shelf awhile or you may have tried to work with it & give it a go but it never really seemed to “work” UNTIL……. One day, it all came together and you realized the value in such a gift once you figure out exactly how to use it or your perspective shifted a bit.

Even though it took you a while to understand the gift, doesn’t mean the gift gained or lost any value during that time. It’s was YOU who had to grow and change.

Sometimes, the gifts God gives us have to be realized. It often takes us maturing in the fire and being molded as clay in our Potter’s hands for us to recognize the perfection that is before us.

This week, I challenge you guys to focus your thoughts and prayers so much on God that the circumstances of life are but minor details. God already has a plan for it all and we don’t need to get in the way. When we focus on Him we position ourselves to see the good & perfect that has been placed in our lives even in the midst of crisis or struggle.

And, more often than not if we can think of nothing “good & perfect” that has been given to us – we don’t have to look any further than the cross.

Because of His death we have been redeemed and He is perfecting us so that He will present us faultless & blameless before His father. So soon, we will be made good & perfect through the struggles & trials of life. 🙂

God is so good you guys. Everything comes full circle. It all ends and begins with Him receiving glory & honor in every way.

Have a great week y’all!!

…. here’s to looking at life through the lens of faith!

… waiting

I’ve posted promises every day this month and when I tell you they are doing a number on my soul…..

I love how God’s words are resounding in my mind, they are coming out in prayers and chats with God, they are settling and calming me like nothing else has.

My momma clock has been going off like mad for the past few weeks and my heart is truly breaking more and more each day.

But, I know God is moving and has an amazing plan for our life as a family and our lives as individuals. And, I’m confident that it’s all for God’s glory. That hope is the only thing keeping me going.

I’m grateful for the peace and calmness God has given me. I’d have been a noisy, nervous wreck by now pressing and pushing for something to happen now – but I am so thankful God is quieting my spirit. I’m thankful for the peace He is granting me, I’m glad he’s positioning me to learn to wait on Him and trusting Him in the process. It’s not easy but I know it will be worth it.

This wait, although sad, is good. I know God is preparing our hearts for who He will bring into our home & He’s shaping us for what He will have us to do later. Whatever it is will be for our good & His glory.

I’m waiting patiently. Trusting God. Standing firm on His promises.

… here’s to trusting God with the hard stuff knowing all of it is being worked together for our/my good.

… just be patient

I have to say that this is one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible. When I was first coming to truly know God, this scripture is what I put my money on.

There have been times when it was incredibly difficult to believe that everything I was experiencing was for my good – especially in the moment- but those same circumstances and issues have prepared me for where I am right now.

Trusting God through the muck of life shapes us into a more useful Christians. Someone God has been molding and shaping to do a specific work for Him. But, in order to see our struggles as a benefit to us and as preparation rather than “a bad hand dealt”, we have to understand that God has a wonderful plan for our lives. We have to trust that God is with us through it all. We have to truly believe that someday, that one day we will use the knowledge and experiences, the character improvements we gained for the building of God’s people and His kingdom.

That’s what this life is all about.

There are times we have to go through some tough times to truly learn who God is. Without knowledge of who He is, we cannot love Him. We can love the idea of Him but not Him. The thought that someone loves us and has a plan for us, who forgives us, and comforts us sounds fantastic until…….
but how will we move from an idea of God to knowledge of God without experience???

We can’t say we love a person until we know them… Until we have experienced them in the good and the bad. Seen them respond/react/behave in various positions & circumstances. Without knowledge we love who we think they are, we love the traits & behaviors we want to see. Not the person with 100% disclosure about their character, habits, or personality.

Everything is always grand until we get into a tough spot.

God knows that if everything is always good, we love the idea of Him. Not Him for who He is. He is a comforter- but how will we ever know that unless we have to be comforted? A healer- not to those who are well. A provider. A protector. A deliverer. Almighty. Gracious.

And, it’s when “all things” aren’t perfect. When “all things” are hard for a very long time. When “all things” are falling apart that we learn to trust and depend on our Savior. When we learn the most about Him. When we learn that He is exactly who He says He is when we learn to love and trust Him.

That is when “all things” work together for us. Our pasts and our struggles prepare us for a platform God will give us to share our stories, our testimonies, our experiences with others to give them hope and strengthen our faith.

We’re here for each other. Our “all things” aren’t only to be a benefit to us, but for the entire body! We all struggle with the same things – God planned it perfectly that way in order for us to be able to support each other and point us back to the truths of God in our times of need.

All things work together for good. For those who love God and are called to His purpose.

It will be okay. No matter what it is – it will always be okay and work out for our good & God’s glory!

A promise. You just have to believe it. Believe that our God cannot lie and will make good on what He says.

…. here’s to learning patience and discipline .. to being pushed closer to God & learning who He is while we wait for the good to come.
