knock it down to build it again…

New seasons, lots of change.

Because I know I would be excommunicated from every friend group, FB group, and GroupMe I’m a part of if I chopped all of my hair off, I decided to update my blog space. How much do you love it? It’s literally making my heart swirl and I’m so grateful for my girls Danielle & Mary for always being so sweet and gracious with all of my update requests and changes!

My blog needed a complete renovation, ok?  Many things needed to be updated, some thing needed to just be deleted because they weren’t applicable anymore, and with new goals and a bit of adventuring, I needed to create space for new things. There is a quiet anticipation and a bit of a stirring happening inside of me that I’m pumped yet humbled by. Definitely a peace and joy, too!

While my blog space needed a real knock down the walls, pull up the floors, and gut it out type of reformation, to be completely honest, my heart and my mind do, too. I definitely see the need for healing and restoration, a new focus and center. While I know that only God can truly change my heart, the only one who can give him the space and permission to move is me. I can’t hover or take over the job I entrusted to him because things aren’t happening the way I think they should.

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or remove your Holy Spirit from me.
Psalm 51:10 -11

No one guts a house only for it to be less functional that it was before. Transformation is opens up the possibilities for improvement; it allows us to see what was “really” there, what could be.  We don’t even use our old furniture in the same way because it won’t fit the new space’s floor plan or because there is a totally new décor theme.  We redecorate, we repurpose, we donate, we sell…. we get rid of what no longer serves us.

So. That’s what I’m hoping for my heart and mind. An overhaul.
Getting rid of unresolved hurt, unforgiveness, anger, and just yuuuck that’s been festering & taking root. Then,  creating space for joy, peace, happiness, contentment, and eyes closed- relaxed body- end with a smile type exhaling.

I’m looking around my blog space and I’m happy with what’s to happen here…. looking forward to being pleased with myself, soon, too.
