I feel very much like a kid waiting for Christmas………… I’m waiting for Mother’s Day.

This time of year, I believe, will always be intense for me because it was such a pivotal point in my life and journey to motherhood.

This time last year, Thomas and I were preparing to go to court to determine if we had legal rights to the little girl we were adopting. We lost which hurt at the time but was truly what was best for us for so many reasons. The end of this month would be the end of constant chaos and confusion. Or, so I thought.

A few weeks later, while celebrating Mother’s Day, I looked like this

This year, things will look a lot more like  this

…. hopefully, we’ll be able to catch everyone looking at the camera and smiling at the same time!

I was carrying these sweet dreams in my belly last Mother’s Day, but wouldn’t find out until three weeks later. This Mother’s Day, I’ll be carry my little miracles in my arms.

My journey to Motherhood has been difficult and heartbreaking. This last year nearly broke me, but it was only God’s faithfulness and His plan for my life that kept me healthy during my high risk (due to multiples) pregnancy, smiling, and my girls healthy. It has nothing to do with me. Allow my story to encourage you if you are struggling with infertility or longing for children – trust that you can trust God. Even through the junk and the difficult. God’s plan is so much greater, has more depth, and a purpose than you could imagine.

So, it’s a celebration y’all. Celebrate in your struggle. My counselor encourages me to look for God’s hand in everything. So, I’m going to encouraging you to do the same. It’s much easier to rest in the peace of God and find joy.

  1. This will be my 1st mothersday as well! I am excited about celebrating being someone’s Mommy. 🙂 I think your Testimony is a very fruitful and encouraging one to trust in God and learn to lean into him past your feelings and understanding. I send a lot of my friends to your site when it comes to the journey of motherhood. You have helped a few of my friends in many ways with your blog. God appreciates your work as do I thanks so much!

    • Isn’t it sweet?! Being a mommy & being able to celebrate! I literally can’t wait!!!! Lol. I think it’s a beautiful day to celebrate YOURSELF as well as letting others honor you, too. We work HARD everyday, we sacrifice, we give endlessly and that’s definitely something to recognize in ourselves. And, thank you so much. You’re so sweet. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to share!

Have a thought to share? I'd love to hear it!
