flourish retreat

But I am like an olive tree, flourishing in the house of God.
– Psalm 52:8flourish1I came across Flourish via my friend Emily’s Insta (@theandersoncrew) and registered immediately. A weekend away to relax, refresh, and to grow spiritually with 14 other women was exactly what my heart and soul needed.

The conversations had, the relationships built, and the community created was more than what I expected. I was able to have really great one on one conversations with most of the girls and some really great group discussions. The speaker for the weekend was so personable and kind, very wise and gentle. I wanted to soak up every bit of her! lol. It was wonderful to be around so many women who were seeking the same thing – to rest, to find peace, and to be filled. flourish2

No matter what the season we were in, our personal struggles, or how we were feeling when we arrived – we were met with grace. Love. Hospitality. Community. Friendship. Hope. and, the feeling that we were not alone. We know we aren’t ever alone, but if we can be made to feel as if we are, as if no one sees us struggling, or understands our fears, how easy is it for us to be convinced that we can’t live in the ways or do the things God has called or urged us to do?

When we’re overwhelmed, we can’t serve our families and others around us with peace and joy.
When we’re holding onto anger and bitterness, we can’t be the light God has called us to be.
When we’re so consumed with the chaos around us, we can’t trust God and worship him fully
